Chances are, the ones who sign up for the contest get a free WIZnet sample to use in their design.

Just to clear things out, the WIZnet chip is a TCP and PHY chip all-in-one. It takes care of TCP handling and MAC/Ethernet too. It should be much simpler to use that the PHY chip which do require to also write the TCP/IP stack (yes, there are a few available for free on the internet like uIP).

Hello everyone!
I just received my 28X1 chips and I got a confirmation email from CircuitCellar that the WIZ810MJ module is on it's way :) I believe the 18X1 and the WIZnet will make a nice little duo. Also, the WIZnet module it is supposed to sell at $12. Not bad if you come to think that it actually does the Physical and the TCP/IP part of the networking.
I hope some of you took the opportunity to sign up and receive the sample.
