VSM checking for updates

Hi
How can I stop the message "VSM checking for updates" at PC startup?

disable the startup program called "UDSCHED".

Which OS are you using?

Run the Update Manager
Start>Program Files>Revolution Education>PICAXE VSM>Update Manager

and then change the settings from once a day to week/month/manual as you prefer

I am reinstalling the PICAXE program on a new HDD after a crash.
OS is Windows XP home.
I think I tried to to do UDSCHED and the update manager method before, but I kept getting messages that my startup had been changed! Worse than the VSM updater!
When it was checking for updates, it never asked me to install any updates in any case!
