Volunteer Translators wanted for PE6

As PE6 is free to use we have always depended on the kind support of volunteers from the PICAXE community to perform localisation into other languages.

This is a relatively straight forward process, and basically involves taking a list of words/phrase such as 'Edit' 'Cut' 'Copy' 'Paste' and typing in the equivalent from your own language.
The results can be seen instantly in PE6, so you can test your translations as soon as they are made.

So if you:

- are a native speaker of a non-English language
- are fluent in English
- are familiar with Windows menus/phrases (e.g. having a local language version of Word/Excel etc installed is very helpful)
- are familiar with PICAXE
- are kind and wish to give something back to the PICAXE community

then we would love to hear from you (please email support @ picaxe . com).

To avoid duplication we are coordinating this work centrally during the beta development stage (the list can be split between multiple people).
In the future we will probably add a dedicated forum section for people to share language files.

For languages already used in PE5/Logicator we obviously have a start already, so can supply an already part completed list.

However we can support any other language as well.

More details on the process are available here for those interested in volunteering:

Thank you

Would one of the translate programs such as "Google Translate" help?

There are various methods to use various online TM databases with .po files, such as https://poeditor.com/

However most of the suggestions that come back are fuzzy and not that effective, so time still needs to be spent by a native speaker correcting them. In many cases it's actually just as quick to type them in to start with!
