Just a quick note to save some headaches !
After laying out a pcb in RS Design Spark and having 100 produced i find the Type 53/BT53 relay is now OBSOLETE ! and no longer stocked by the usual sources.
Ive deleted the relay from the library now.

Hope this saves some headaches for others

There are but it looks like most have got on the "rip off" pricing structure because of availability, the original relay was around a POUND, now they seem to be up to and over Ten pounds a time.
The footprint is the problem, the spec is pretty standard.
Oh well, live and learn :(

Hi,

It looks as if the "replacement" relays are just a standard relay on a small adapter PCB? Pin spacing appears to be normal 0.1 inch pitch, so for a small quantity couldn't you just make an adapter with a scrap of Veroboard? Or for 100 it could be worth making a small custom PCB.
