testing about 20M2

hi everybody

i bought two picaxe 20M2 , and just for testing , i put one of them in replacement of a 20X2 on a board wich works correctly
and i can't get a response to a check firmware version, i try the other one : same result , no response.
manual 1 don't say anything about difference beetwen those two chip(20x2/20M2) concerning enhanced download circuit
probabily i am wrong but can't find it, may be somebody help me?

Are you using the latest version of the program editor

Two things to try ...

1) Open Terminal in Programming Editor, select 4800 baud and see if any "welcome" message is shown.

2) Try a Hard Reset to initiate the download or firmware check.

programming editor is v5.4.3
i tried all speed and so hard reset (switch off/on power) no result, always sleepin
actually the board is connected via port com1 i will try with usb cable tomorrow...
