Yes, but is it uniform? Gaussian? Is it like many other random number generators and not very random in the lower bits? (I.E., using X mod 2 is not a good way to get a random string of 1's and 0's.)It produces a word in the range 0 to 65535.

Quite a reasonable firelight / candles flicker can be produced very easily by using the tune command but putting an LED on the output rather than a speaker. - This is how a lot of commercial offerings do it.I am thinking about creating an LED flickerer to simulate fire. What kind of distribution does the Random command create?
