Prototyping Station

I'm looking to build myself a prototyping station incorporating my AXE091 development board, but with integral and hidden/accessible 12V and 5V regulated supplies built into the station. In addition, a facility to plug in LCD display boards (2xaa, 4xaa). Enough space to mount motors, servos, sensors, relay boards etc.,

I've searched the forum, but not found any examples, although I am sure other members have constructed something similar.

I'm looking for examples, benificial add ons, connection and interfacing preferences.

I do find the AXE091 full of facilities but a little restricting for on board developments (space wise).

Any ideas ?

I mounted mine in a small ali box, like a flight box, put OLED screen and keypad in lid with ribbon cable.

it can come down to how tidy and/or flexible you want your own proto-typing work station to be and what your budget is.

Thanks for the links to other threads I didn't find when searching the forum and also the link to the Tarzan site. Some food for thought. I've probably got enough bits and pieces lying around to come up with something satisfactory (for me).
