Possible error in Manual 1?

I've said "possible" error as I may just be reading the picture wrong, but I think it could be confusing to newbies like myself.

Page 68 of Manual 1 "Getting Started"

Look at the image of the led in the top right-hand corner of the page. (To me) it looks as if it is showing the wrong polarity? Or am I just seeing it wrong?

Yes, on standard 3mm and 5mm type the flat is always cathode, regardless of leg lengths.

Most LEDs have the longer leg as the +ve (Anode), some IRLEDs (e.g. Osram SFH range) have the longer leg as the -ve (C/Kathode).

Needs the "+" moving. Well spotted.

I'm glad I googled it now before I soldered them on :)

I thought I was going crazy for a minute when I saw the image.

Thanks

Paul.

Shouldn't you be
breadboarding, rather than soldering.
Much safer. :)

A bit like bricks'n mortar vs Lego.

maybe i should. I just wired a couple of led's to give me something to play with. I've put a push button in there now and I'm getting some strange things happening so I recon breadboard is the way forward. It would save a lot of de-soldering when I make mistakes.
