pin 0 functionality?

I have to use pin 0 as a clock line, but I'm having some problems, and I think it's a result of trying to use pin 0 as a clock line. The program seems to work fine on the prototype board, but when I switch pins for the application, nothing seems to work...is there something I have to do to use pin 0 without problems?

Pin 0 should be the same as any other, but which PICAXE are you using ? If it's an 08, 08M or 14M, Output Pin 0 is used for SERTXD and DEBUG and either of those in a program would affect the output line.
