Here are some pictures of my Serial LCD unit. I have found this to be an excellent and easy to use piece of equipment - highly recommended!

The pictures are not supposed to show examples of brilliant soldering (or brilliant photography) but they may be helpful to anyone building one of these units because the instructions I received (and the ones currently on the Picaxe website) appear to be for an earlier version.

My advice for the assembly of this unit would be first to do all of the soldering on the main PCB (i.e. not the one with the LCD on it). I used header pins on all of the connections - my manual suggested using link wires on J1 and J2 (depending on the i2c and power configuration) but headers allow me change this as and when required. When all that is done you can then snap on the LCD screen and solder it to the header pins.
