Picaxe Programming Editor Locks-up

I installed the Picaxe Programming Editor v 5.2.22 on a new computer I got and I am having problems with it locking up when I try to program an 18X Picaxe. I am using the AXE 027 USB cable.

I can type a new program or I can load a saved program into the editor but when I try to program the 18X, the Programming Editor locks up completely and I have to reboot the computer.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

The best suggestions would be to download and install the latest Programming Editor version 3.5.1 ( follow the Software Drivers link at top right of page ) and also ensure you have the AXE027 drivers installed from that page
