Couple questins on the PICAXE-28X2 microcontroller (3VDC Version)

In the PICAXE Store it's listed as a 3 VDC part. Can it handle the more popular 3.3 VDC from linear regulators? It's also listed as having the older firmware. What doesn't this version have the current part 28X2 has?

Thanks.

The 28X2-3V can run at any voltage between 3V and 3.6V across its whole operating frequency range so does support the industry standard 3.3V voltage.

The device has different firmware to that latest (universal voltage) 28X2 as they are different chips with different on-chip hardware capabilities.

The 28X2-3V and 28X2-5V variants are superseded parts and no longer manufactured or stocked. It is recommended to use the (universal voltage) 28X2 part for new projects.
