It will wait forever.
The X1 has IRIN which can have a timeout.
With other devices, you can monitor the input line (maybe with an interrupt) and only enter the command when you 'know' that an IR signal is present.

I thought that would proberble be the the answer if any does know anotherway I would be interested to hear itIt will wait forever.

According to the manual, only the 28X1 and 40X1 have IRIN - the 18X1 is not mentioned. Has anyone verified this is the case?
It's too bad the timer interrupt cannot interrupt an INFRAIN command.

I've used IRIN with timeout on a 28X1 but I've not had the pleasure of a 18X1.
