OT: Component suggestion....

Hi sorry this is off topic but throwing this open to all the users out there for assistance.

Can anyone suggest a SMD rectifier or SS diode with a footprint that will fit the pads of an 0805 size component?

I dont have enough experience with SMD yet to know all the case types - I'm hoping one of you can point me in the right direction!

Stocky,

Here's another example.
http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/55576.pdf

Two comments:
1. 0805 doesn't seem to be the most common SMDformat for standard diodes. More likely SOD-323, SC-79 and SOT-23. Depends on your desired spec.

2. Go to Farnell's website and make use of their parametric SEARCH, so start with 'diode' in the search box. A couple of clicks along you can select in the option table for case, spec, whtever.
It'll be a lot quicker (for us) than posting here...
Even if you can't get from Farnell it will give you some options.

Ditto RS Components which is sloer anmore tricky and for diodes you may have to search on 'rectifier' - how quaint...

Note, they don't seem to have any 0805 size....
Maybe time to change your artwork footprint??

OR
You could try Digi-Key:

(Rectifier again)

Anyway, it's time for you to spend some time searching...

BOOKMARK / FAVORITISE the above main links for your future SEARCHING.

Cheers Guys - Already look there - its an *oversight* type of issue on a BRAND NEW pattern - need to replace a resistor with a diode - DONT ask! LOL

I think i have found some tonite - put the call out to the distie for MOQ & availability.

If all else fails it will be hand soldered on the back of the PCB (all SMD on rear where NOT visible to the client luckily!) :-(

IF I ever get to a 1.0b board i'll update the pattern!

I have accounts with RS, Farnell, Digikey, Mouser etc etc etc! No Luck anywhere - hence the call for help *just in case* :)

hmmmm - their parametric search is flaky - searched there today and came up blank.

Search again now and found it - sorry guys for wasting your time *gets back under rock*

Ne worry pas.
All these parametric search things can be a pain in the arm and sometimes need a few goes. I can't stand the newish RS Components one, the old one was much more logical.

And sometimes it's handy to have a big pile of PAPER catalogues.... it's quicker.
