Onboard Basic?

This might be a little offtopic, (if so please forgive) But I'm looking at creating a PICAXE controlled project that needs a smart onboard interface. Due to the limitations of the input command of the PICAXE, I thought it might be wise to add a chip to handle the userinterface side of the project and let the PICAXE handle the servo control. Does anyone know of a chip that I could use the handle the user interface maybe even something with an onboard basic type interpeter?

It really depends on what type of user interface you are looking at. An obvious, off-the-top-of-the-head, answer would be a PC or perhaps another PICAXE, or even a handful. The best tool for the job depends very much on what the job actually is, and I think you need to clairify what it is that you're after.
