Missing microchip raw part name of 18M2

Hi

Just for interest sake, is there no microchip part name for the picaxe18M2 or is it just left out intentionally or forgotten?

The microchip raw part name of picaxe 18M2 is not mentioned under mode tab in picaxe programming editor version 5.3.1 nor in the manual. Any reason?

I'm impressed with picaxe programming editor v5.3.1 although the code explorer features has been compromised but PE just to name a few now has a super calculator, quick syntax checker (F1) although it's more detailed if compared to the syntax checker (F4) which supposed to be even the quick syntax checker from the looks of things!

Keep up Paul - have a read of the off topic part (post #30 onwards) of http://www.picaxeforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=16012 about what the 18M2 is based on...and why you'll probably never know.

Yeah Martin, thanks for the link as i can see this has been an ongoing discussion wrap in a different thread and does that also explains why PICaxe name (or also Hippy's name as shown by Dippy) was engraved on it because it's a custom chip made by Microchip only for Rev Edu.

And if that is the case does that means all feature PICaxe chips (14M2, 20M2) whose names are engraved on will not have a detailed data sheet but equivalents or speculative data sheets.

Come on, where would be the fun if you'd have the datasheets? Now you can have the fun of exploring by trying poke commands on different registers and see what effect they have

The 18M2 -originally anyway- is/was PIC16F1827 based.
