Load cell Options/Help

Hi.
I need to be able to connect a load cell (inline rod end type) small one as well, may be 0-10Lb to PICAXE08M and read the voltage values.
I know that load cells have small voltage ref and they need amplifying.
Is there a way of doing it any other way?
Also, are there any alternative devices that can be connected to picaxe which would monitor applied pressure?

Andrei,

As far as load cells go you're going to need an amplifier. No way around this unless the the cell has a built-in amp. Remember the Picaxe ADC is referenced to the supply voltage so any type of sensor used needs an output in this range for best resolution.
