IR transmitter ID codes

I have been looking at hippy's techniques for decoding IR and am going to try it.

But, I need to able to send and receive different ID codes.

So, how do I setup the IR transmitter to transmit different ID codes?
It's the AXE040 transmitter.

Hello,

There is some ID codes in the second manual have a read as these may be your answer.

Common Sony Device IDs.:
TV 1 VTR3 11
VTR1 2 Surround Sound 12
Text 3 Audio 16
Widescreen 4 CD Player 17
MDP / Laserdisk 6 Pro-Logic 18
VTR2 7 DVD 26

I don't have an AXE040, bit I think they would be a fixed ID (TV) device, as they are for picaxe use. I may be wrong ?

You can use an 08M or 14M or X1, X2 chips to transmit and change the DEVICE ID, says the data sheet.
I have never tried devices other than TV, there's something to add to the list of rainy day projects. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

PS: Picaxes can only look for a TV ID as the input device.

Looks like my problem is that the AXE040 transmitter is locked to DeviceID 1

Although it does have an &quot;ID&quot; button. So what is that used for?

Maybe I'll have to make my own transmitter.
