help with building some controllers

Hi All, i'm new to this picaxe stuff but i'm enjoying creating the software.

anyway i need some controllers constructing for an appliance prototype i'm building that we have designed.

anybody fancy building them for me, happy to pay as its a commercial job.

or does anybody know any companies that can build the units up for me using the picaxe so that i can program it.

You may have to provide a touch more detail before anyone gets too excited.

Controller for what? A light bulb or thermonuclear plant?

I know several manufacturers, but without detail I couldn't tell you if they'd be keen. And one or two offs may be expensive esp if pcbs are involved.

HI Dippy.

there will be 3 controllers needed per appliance.

one to control an engine.

one to control a stepper motor with some thermal feedback.

and an overall master controller.

it may be possible to put it all on one board but not sure yet.

this is only for prototype work so i can devise a strategy for the system.

for production i would expect to burn it all on one chip and board, to get the cost down.

the system is a micro combined heat and power system.

production volume will be 100,000 units per year minimum, with over 200,000 ordered already.

Only because you'll make it out of cardboard Jer :)

Seriously though, without details I'd hate to see someone biting off more than they can chew.

Cash up front or on 3 month invoice?

When I see those big numbers I can see jeremy's wallet pulsating... at least, I think it's his wallet.

But in reality you want someone to do a one-off prototype?

How much are you paying?
Are you expecting people to design/manufacture a pro pcb?
Any mechanicals involved?
Who pays for bits up front?

“one to control an engine.”
What kind of engine. What level of control? Petrol/diesel/steam. Throttle? Mixture control? RPM feedback? Torque/temperature/pressure feedback? Starter control? Braking?

”one to control a stepper motor with some thermal feedback.”
What is the stepper doing? How frequently does it do it? How big is the stepper? What voltage/current? Where is the temperature sensed? What sort of temperature range and sensitivity/resolution are we talking about? Do you already have a sensor installed?

”and an overall master controller.”
Just to control the other two? Interface with others? A display and some buttons? Real time clock required?

What voltages are available? Mains powered? Do we have to build a PSU? Will the person who stole my ladder please return it?

By "build", I assume it means just that.
Is it FULLY designed including any applicable compliance?
Will parts be supplied?
Timeline?
Rates?
Test to drawing is "builder's" responsibility. What about test to spec?

Hi all.

i have all the IO's sorted and all the hardware.

looking for genuine interest in building the prototype unit up for me.

cash up front and will buy all hardware needed.

we take responsibility for all design and compliance etc.

we will include any power supplies needed,

we have 240V and 12V on board already so will happily put snother supply in to give us 6V or whatever is needed for the controller.

My idea is to have a master controller running the whole appliance, when certain demands are made it will switch on various parts of the system which will have their own controllers.

we will write the software to run the system, but help is always nice from you experts in PICaxe.

i can't say too much about the product due to commercial confidentiallity etc.

website is www.powertherm.eu

this is a genuine commercial opportunity which i thought i'd offer here first.
