Good Companion for the PICAXE

Being an electronics/retro computer collector, I quickly found a good development companion for my serial PICAXE project, an old TRS-80 model 100. I have all the advantages of a serial LCD screen (thanks to the built-in terminal) as well as a fine portable keyboard that all runs off standard AA cells. :)

Here's some shots of this combination.

The original laptop! I had one ~1985 & recall it's terminal program was a breeze. Rather bulky however for just Picaxe serial display, & mid-late 90s PDA/organisers are more numerous too.
Think that URL should be => bbs.petscii.com/picaxe/pics%20001.jpg External Web Link etc for the 4 pix

The Amstrad NC-100 is also quite handy as a terminal, and looks to be much the same as the Tandy. To get it to transmit data, the 9-way D needs null-modem linking ( CTS to RTS etc ).

Stan,

There's a method of connecting standard serial PDA's to the picaxe for terminal interface? This would be interesting.. I think I still have a older Palm somewhere around here.
