Hi,
Instead of an AXE027 I am using another name brand to connect USB to serial from my PC to download from the Programming Editor (Version 5.5.6), it is a UNITEK Y-108. After some good runs I get a lot of connection errors, from reloading the driver, swapping ports to rebooting the computer most of the time gets a connection. Is anyone else having these issues or should I get the rigy dig AXE027 cable?

Thanks

As someone new to PICAXE, and having just ordered my first chip and cable. I umm'd and aahh'd about getting a cheaper USB to Serial cable, I would recommend you bite the bullet and get the AXE027.

The reason I went for the AXE027 at $40NZD over a third party $12NZD cable was to avoid exactly the problem you now face. Better off with officially supported cables than ones that may fail, or worse destroy chips.
