Anybody used the Mr.General robot?

Has anybody bought the DAGU "Mr. General" robot and used the 28X1 or 28X2 chip with it? I did and could not get it to work with the program provided. It is originally intended to be used with the Arduino system, but a PICAXE program was also available with the included program CD.
Any comments or remarks, anyone?

No, but if you describe the specific problem and post the code I'm sure someone will help. Are you sure your hardware is assembled properly? You can find the main Dagu designer Russell Cameron at LMR or robotrebels.org BTW.

If the provided PICAXE program is for the 28X1 then you would need to add DIRS<x> = %xxxxxxxx
Commands to set the required IO pins as outputs.

All a guess without more information.
