28X2 and 40X2 ??

Dear all, I know that the question has been asked before, but: any idea when the new x2 version of the Picaxe 28 and 40 will be available? And a second question with regard to the 40 MHz clock speed: is that compatible with the standard buad rates, or does it have to run at 36 MHz to be compatible?
Thanks, Ronald Keus

Release date is to be confirmed.

To use 'traditional' serin and serout on i/o pins you would need to use 32MHz (external 8MHz resonator, because of the internal x4 PLL)

However if you use the 'hardware' serial port (hsersetup, hserin, hserout) you can run at 40MHz (external 10MHz) - and get more features such as higher baud rates, background receive etc.
