PICAXE Editor 6 user guide - is there such a thing?

I guess this is it: <http://www.picaxe.com/docs/pe6.pdf>. If anyone knows of anything more comprehensive, please post it here.

PICAXE Editor 6 user guide - is there such a thing?

Page 71 onwards of the Getting Started manual consists of nineteen pages of example tutorials (unless I'm looking at the wrong document). While useful, this is not what I meant. I was wondering if there was anything that actually documented all the features of the editor. My question is not an...

PICAXE Editor 6 user guide - is there such a thing?

I have searched for something resembling a user guide and not found anything. Oddly, I've also not found mention of such a thing in this forum (assuming the search feature is working correctly and/or I'm using it correctly). Surely such a complex piece of software cannot exist without some sort...

    Selective powering of modules

There is mebbe one more thing more disappointing – seeing your PhD project go up in smoke :-(

    Selective powering of modules

Ok, consider me informed... clearly I need to do more reading. Trouble is, it's too easy to get diverted into watching YouTube videos of exciting battery fires.

    Selective powering of modules

I'm not an expert, but I suspect that paralleling unmatched lithium cells would be asking for trouble. [Scans 'Big Clive]... I think I like this guy ;-)

    Selective powering of modules

Duly noted, and I share your cynicism. Mine are PowerAdd Pilot X7s, obtained 'on offer' from a well-known online retailer whose name rhymes with Brabazon. I have three. As soon as possible, I will measure the true capacity and report back.

    GPS010 with axe211?

I'm embarrased to admit that, because I'd been using an old bookmark to access PICAXE hardware, I'd not found this. It would seem to offer an almost ready-made solution to my GPS plans, so many thanks for pointing it out. (It's funny how you can spend absolutely hours at a keyboard searching for...

    GPS010 with axe211?

Thanks for the explanation - all is now clear.

    Extracting GPS time with PICAXE

Many thanks for the very useful replies. I'm not sure why I didn't find Pete's posting, but it looks as if he's provided me with an almost ready-made solution, not to mention a great coding example. I hope in time I can make useful contributions back to this forum. I'd still be interested to...

    Extracting GPS time with PICAXE

Thanks for that tip! [searches...] Wow - lots of stuff. Will take me a while to read and digest. I'm still interested in AXE210 reports though. One 2014 thread (https://picaxeforum.co.uk/threads/gps-choice-gps010-or-gps001-and-axe211.26282/) refers to an AXE211 as a 'future product', and...

    GPS010 with axe211?

It's 2019 now and I cannot find any info on AXE211. What was it for, and will it appear?

    Selective powering of modules

As I started this thread, I'm posting a follow-up on the power issue. I've also started a new thread on GPS time that relates to the same project, now reactivated as the hapless intended recipient is getting married this summer. In the intervening couple of years Lithium Polymer batteries with...

    Extracting GPS time with PICAXE

I'm returning to my PICAXE projects after a couple of years of attempting to retire and failing ;-) I am iniitally constructing a digital clock with some unusual features, mainly using PICAXE modules. The time source is an Adafruit Chronodot RTC. All this ought to go smoothly - although I may...

    Control of domestic night-storage heaters

I'd advise against those.I actually use the UK version as control for backup boost heating (with an oil-filled electric radiator), but the temperature control is pretty crude. Plus the remote eats batteries.

    Control of domestic night-storage heaters

I only believe in things I can measure - I like graphs :-) When considering replacing the heaters a few years back, I looked at the Quantum range, but the problem for me was that they required a permanently live supply in addition to the off-peak, which would have involved me in a *lot* of very...

    Control of domestic night-storage heaters

Long answer - sorry. I agree with all that you say: my 'dream' system would take into account the predicted temperatures for the next few days drawn from the Met Office's website. However, after The Beast From The East last February I was looking for a simple quick solution. My observation only...

    Control of domestic night-storage heaters

I am posting a follow-up to this thread, as I've found a way of improving control of old night-storage heaters (as long as they're not rated over about 2 kW), in case anyone else is struggling with old but sound heaters with their awful controls. There is one - and I've only found one -...

Measuring LF pulse periods: SETTIMER vs COUNT (or other methods)

I am impressed by what I've read on this forum. I have so many questions to ask, but I must resist the temptation to start new threads. But maybe I may be allowed this one, as it's foxing me at the design stage. Here's the setup. An experimental electro-mechanical clock (a subject dear to my...

    Control of domestic night-storage heaters

I have read some of rmeldo's threads here from 2008 and wondered if the project was successful. This is a topic dear to me, as I have three old but sound night-storage heaters that are hard to control, and have often thought about automating them. Now that I have a better idea of what PICAXE...
