Which PICAXE I should choose

I need to integrate a MC14489 (7-segment LED driver)with PICAXE. The pins on MC14489 that need to be connected to picaxe are DATA IN, CLOCK, and ENABLE. which PICAXE is the best to use with MC14489?

you can use every picaxe with this chip. it needs only pins and all picaxes can give you that. if you plan to control more things using a picaxe, then you need a bigger chip.

An 08/08M will do the job but you will
have 2 pins available for an input.
