VSM 7.10 Error: Internal Exception: access violation in module: SPICESIM.DLL

Greetings:

When I attempt to run animation in VSM, an error appears and the animation fails.

This now occurs with new, simple designs. Older, more complex circuits animate fine.

I do not know of any system changes other than W7 SP1 auto updates.
Virus scanning is off.

The DSN and Crash Dump files for a simple SPST-Res-LED circuit are attached.

Please rename "TXT" to "DMP".

There is no PicAxe chip or code.

LabCenter's board has some responses to similar errors, but the resolutions seem to be specific to individual components.

Thanks in advance.

VSM Support Request

Do I contact LabCenter for VSM support when the issue is not Picaxe related?

After reinstalling VSM and creating a new circuit with just power, ground, a resistor and LED, the error :

“Internal Exception: access violation in module 'PROSPICE.DLL' [63EC4652].”

appears.

The DSN is attached.

Any direction is appreciated.

It appears you may have corrupted your template layout somehow, because if we highlight all your components and click copy - then use File>New>Default template and paste, the new circuit then works fine. This implies a fault with your original design template, not the components/circuit themselves.

Thank you for your assistance.

Since your note I have tried various methods to solve the issue, stopping short of a disk wipe.

VSM is now again functional after a registry backup, and a registry search for:
-VSM
-Proteus
-ISIS
-Labcenter

…and deleting all entries that returned a like value.

Then…
-Defragging the C: drive

Then…
-Reinstalling VSM

FYI: I did not have to reenter my license key

Over the past two years while searching on this issue I have found others with the same problem. Their searches ended apparently when they found my original post on this board.

?

Hope this helps….
