usb to serial adapter

I bought a usb 010 cable to run on my vista OS laptop.(no serial ports)
It fails to run.
No problem on XP Pro.
Is there a patch for Vista.

Hi.
Am I missing something here?
My laptop has no serial ports and the OS is Vista
I purchased the USB to Serial adaptor to get over this problem.
I am unable due to whatever reason to get my recently purchased laptop to communicate via this cable to the pic chip. Comm Port selection is not the problem.
When I use the down load cable on my main machine running XP Pro via an usb port it works every time.
So I ask once again, Does the USB010 run under Vista, or is it down to some peculiarity of my Laptop

From what I've heard, you just need to back-date the rain to last year.

Anyway, think of the positives: its keeping you inside, playing with your PICAXE ;o) Oh yeah, I forgot, you're having trouble with the download.....

Perhaps theres some inspiration for a high capacity digital rain gauge... you certainly have the means to test it at the moment. As long as you can keep your PC above water anyway!
