Touch Screen

Good Morning,

I was wondering if I could get some help.

I want to start a new project that uses a touch screen numeric pad to enter a stored code (that can be changed by the user) to activate some electronics.

Would a picaxe be cable of doing this?

Is so, are there any recommendation on a suitable touch screen touch pad? Only need to be 4 digits to be fair, but I guess standard off the shelf would be a full 0-9 pad.

Many thanks in advance.

It actually depends on the hardware you are going to use for the touch input. Do you have a specific touch screen in mind that you will be using?

Hi Steliosm,

Thank you for your reply. I've not picked a touch screen yet, so I would definitely welcome some recommendations. It doesn't need to be fancy or anything like colour. Just a simple one colour LCD would do. Infact, even a back lit inductive keypad might be nice and simple and keeping with a flush design.

Many thanks

Russ

I used an old smartphone and a bluetooth receiver. Look at this thread especially post 8 & 10 by Inglewood Pete..

You could look at the nextion range of displays create your own lay outs and comunicate with serial to the pickaxe
