<TEXT> question

Hopefully not too silly of a question

I've looked through this forum and the help files for an answer, but if it's there, it's eluded me...

What is the <TEXT> field for underneath most components on a schematic ?

I was trying to "cleanup" one of my schematics by getting rid of these <TEXT>'s but can't. Do they have a purpose ?

Thanks, John.

BTW - Yes, I have a licenced copy of VSM.

We've not sure what you mean, you would normally have the component name etc. displayed. Can you post a saved .dsn file with what you are seeing.

Thanks

.DSN file

Sure,

In the attached file (Temp.dsn), using the LED for example, it is shown with:

D1
LED-GREEN
<TEXT>

Through properties, I have found that I can hide D1 and LED-GREEN if I choose, but can't seem to do anything with <TEXT>.

In the examples that came with VSM, the AXE105Dice.DSN in the Demo Version Samples/PICAXE folder to pick one, none of the components have the <TEXT> field.

Is it hidden / deleted ?

Thanks, John.

Ok, we see now.

Go to Template>Set Design Defaults menu and turn off

'Show hidden text?'
