serin-serout baud rate

The serin and serout commands explained in the user manual 2 have specified baud rate as function of frequency as T600_4 or N 2400_8 where the _4 or _8 look to be the frequency designators. These designators are however omitted in the example; are them necessary?
Additionally, in the serin chapter, a set of baud rates are specific for 28/28A parts; the 28X1 is included in the upper set or the lower one?

Thanks

The frequency suffix aren't necessary when the PICAXE is run at its default operating frequency, 8MHz for X2's, 4MHz for all others. So N2400 is the same as N2400_4 for an 08M, N2400 is the same as N2400_8 for the 28X2.

The 28X1 baud rates are in the lower "for all other parts (e.g. all X1, X2, M2 parts)" table.
