Serial PIC Programmer

I am using the BAS800 programmer to program both PICs and for converting PICAXE Basic code to assembly code. The scope of devices supported by Serial PIC Programmer software version 4.3.4 appears to be limited in light of the number of PIC devices currently available. I would like to use the BAS800 and Serial PIC Programmer software to program a PIC 16F716. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you for a reply.

I suppose that basically means that support for additional PIC devices is a "work in progress".

That said, the current software version does support programming the PIC 16C716 and I am trying to program the PIC 16F716.

Might this work?
