recommended material for starting out

Any recommendations on where to go what to buy maybe for Logicator programming starting out?

Have found a couple of videos on youtube. Just wondered, if there is anything I might be missing?

Welcome to the PICAXE Forum.

Personally I prefer to do development on breadboard (and finally stripboard) and never use 'starter packs' or 'project boards' so I'd recommend that to get started you buy:

• Some PICAXE chips - I'd suggest at least two of each from these: 40X2, 20X2, 18M2, 08M2.
• A couple of breadboards this size and some wire for them.
• AXE029 Breadboard Adapter
• Stripboard
• Download cable
• Some components - lots of LEDs, resistors (some 330 ohm and 10k will do), tactile switches, battery boxes, piezo, potentiometers, decoupling capacitors and a serial LCD.

You'll also need a soldering iron and lead solder.

If you prefer the idea of using the pre-made boards then I'd suggest you get the PICAXE Development Starter Pack.

I am looking more for info on the programming side. I am pretty good on the hardware side.

I have printed out the book, also the basic commands book.

I have found some good youtube videos if anyone is interested I will post.
