Project cases and battery boxes

Halloween this year seems to have a large number of battery powered gizmos offered by the chinese manufacturers. I have found many that use either 2AA or 3AA cells. They also have LEDs, motors and switches that are also useful.

With a little imagination, these can be converted to cheap project cases and battery boxes.

A little "circuit bending" can make these PICAXE-able.

Wait for the "day after" sales and get them for a pittance.

Check the cheap physical stores (in the US, Target, Walmart, some other stores) and the Halloween-only stores.

I haven't seen much of this online (maybe I don't frequent the right places?).

Boriz.

Try the large supermarkets, then the pound shops.
I've seen this sort of stuff in Sainsbury's and Morrison's "seasonal" aisles.

And I don't live in the US.
You are missing all the fun!

Halloween is the second largest holiday in the US based on sales, second only to Christmas.

There are quite a few 'electric' candles for pumpkins, with strobe LEDs, color changing LEDs, etc -- all pretty cheap. I bought one with 6 bright yellow Leds, a group of RGB LEDs, a 3 cell battery holder and a power switch for $2.50 at Walmart. It will make a great base for a PICAXE art project.

Not really an internet sales item, the shipping costs would not be worth it.

I just picked up 2 strings of orange LEDS - 200 LEDs total. On clearance at COSTCO for $2.97.

The deals are starting :)
