This is a nightlight that projects color changing patterns on the ceiling. It is a pleasant companion for kids to use when drifting off to sleep at night. Built with a PICAXE 20M2 and a superflux RGB LED, it has a few different color blending algorithms. The picture is printed on a transparency, and the entire project is mounted in an inexpensive children's beach bucket.

Nice idea, but the enlarged image of the breadboard isn't the same as the small image, and there's no RGB led on the larger image.

Thanks for catching this. I've updated the page so that the enlarged breadboard is the same as the smaller image.


When I first saw your post, I thought the issue was the lack of an RGB LED on the breadboard (ie, I used 3 separate LEDs). PEBBLE is such a convenient tool, but it has some real limitations. And no doubt, these are made worse by my own misuse of this tool; I'm using it as a schematic editor, whereas it looks like it's intended to detail physical connections between components. Since it is rather limited in components, I often find myself using some workaround. For example, sometimes I want to include a motor, but don't want it to take up 1/4 of the breadboard; or I want to include a wire trace that has a right angle, but only connects with the breadboard at the ends, not at the bend.

Hopefully, my liberties with PEBBLE are still leading to clear understanding of connections.
