I bought one of the evil genius series of books and it had a web address with goodies including this oscilloscope and standard frequency files.

That Oscilloscope v2.51 is pretty old. It was the first soundcard oscilloscope that I used a few years ago. Written in 1997, it is more suited to the older operating systems of its era (eg Windows 95). One problem is its limited on-screen resolution, making the display very small on a 1024 x 1280 display.

I tried several free soundcard oscilloscopes. Some are reasonably good. However they never seem to do everything you want.

I ended up writing my own oscilloscope program in VB2005. Interfacing to the mixer driver software in XP was a challenge but it can be done.
