OLED working voltage

I'm about to drive a AXE133Y OLED with a PIC MCU (PIC32MX240) running on a 3.3v supply. Does anyone have experience running the OLED at 3.3v supply (the spec. sheet says 4.5 or 5v) or alternatively driving the OLED module fed with a 5v supply with lower logic levels that would come from the PIC MCU?

Should I just put a logic level converter?

while I only did some initial tests but think it should work fine at 3.3v

The interfacing problem is best addressed by running the OLED at 3v3, so I will give it a go. I'm laying out a PCB without first prototyping, so at worst it will be cut track or two.

I have had no problems with running my OLED at 3V3. No drop in brightness and it can work down to 3V.
