number of out puts the same on 18m2 and 28x1?

hey everyone,

i really like make project wth pics and soon i need to start learning to code by hand instead of flow charts lol any way...

i need a pic that has about 5 inputs and about say 10-12 outputs so the picaxe 18m2 that i have work with is not big enoegh!
so i chocie the pic axe 24x1 and really it had the same number of outputs but just two more inputs. which for me is no good

so i look at the pinlayout for the 24x1

and i can see all 8 out puts but i also see on pins 11-14 it says out c0 or out c1 what does this mean (out c0) and can change them to out puts i think not but may be wrong.

if not does it look like i will have to use the pic axe 40x2?

decoder?

i have just though about using a decoder using 3 bit binary as 7 of the out puts i need are just leds.
what do you think about that do you think it would work? i can see why not.

In Logicator use a BASIC cell and then type in either

high portC 0

or

low portC 0

to switch this output on and off.
