Need help with car project

I'm Still trying to figure out how to control like 10 ish tri leds to change colour with the revs of the car. I need to figure out how to do it as im a newb but willing to to the work in to make it. I would like to have one colour when ignition is o, on colour for low revs which fades into another as the revs raise.


I have a picaxe 8M and some 0TLC5940EVM (Ithink about 5 ish of em) If that helps.

Hello Itsmee (not really its you but thats all to do with perspective ;-) )
Do you need all the leds to be on at the same time or does the number of LEDs change with the revs as well. If its just colour change your after, do a search on "pwm leds" theres lots of stuff on here about that with tri colour or three individual coloured leds

you could use pwm on the commons on each led colour and switch indivdual leds (ie each tri led) to vary the number
