Minimising battery drain on the 40X1

I recollect reading post stating that in order to minimise battery drain it is best practice to tie unused I/O pins high or low via R's.

Is this correct?


If so does it matter which pins are tied which way?


Is there anything else I can do to minimse drain? (I'm familiar with disablebod command.)

Clock the speed down to 31.250kHz instead of 4mHz (1/128th the speed) when possible, turn off ADC module between any ADC reads, pull unused inputs to 0V, current-limit outputs to the extent possible. Are the inputs pulled straight to ground or via R's?

For pins that can also be outputs you should use a resistor; without one a programming error could cause a shortcut
