Microbot Tyres (solved)

Anyone have a handy hint on fitting the tyres onto the little blue microbot wheels please?

The tyres supplied with my BOT120 look different to those in the manual, and seem really difficult to stretch onto the wheels.

Wondered if heating the tyres up might help, but fear breaking them.

Yes they are tight and much easier to fit if warm, leave them on radiator for a bit or place in some warm (not boiling) water.

Gently heating the tyres with a heat gun did not work. Tyres cool down really fast.

Immersion in basin of hot water seems more promising, but no joy yet.

Luckily when I opened my Versabot, I discovered that it comes with the same wheels, despite no obvious use for them. The tyres went onto these wheels nice and easily.
