Manual Error??

Surely there is an error in the diagram on page18 in section 3. for the stepper motor circuit.

Pins 1 and 8 show it at +V2 although inside the L293D layout it shows Pins 1,9 and 16 at 5v.

Project board power information shows that +V1 (+5v) is used to to run the Picaxe and with the resistor removed a 2nd
supply labeled +V2 can be used (12v).

Data sheet info for the L293D shows that the max voltage for Pins 1 and 9 (enable) is 7 volts.

Looking at past posts quite a few chips were fried by tying all to a higher votage, mine were... ( have to read the small print in future).........

Does appear to be wrong, except for when V2+ is a low voltage like 5V.

This is a mistake. It was flagged up by me a year or more ago. Can't find the thread now.

The recommendation was that Vss, the logic supply and the enable pins should be kept to
nominal 5,0 volts and Vs, motor supply, upto 36 volts.

The diagram was never corrected
