Interesting, low cost and easy to use DAC

One catch for newbies to this chip, is that you have to request the address to be programmed into the DAC when you order them...ouch.

From the data sheet : "The A2 and A1 are programmed to ‘00’ (default), if not requested by customer."

You only get the option to specify an address if you are ordering thousands of these, direct from Microchip.
I expect all those $3 breakout boards will be set at '00', unless they are built using surplus stock from a big-name OEM !.
 
Hidden in the section 7.2 of the datasheet, there is a note that unless ordered otherwise by the customer A2, A1 are set by default to 00.
A0 is of course set by the dedicated address's pin.
