iButtons

The PicAxe08M has a command to read IDs from Dallas-Maxim iButtons, but nothing else. It would be very desirable to read other data from the iButtons, particularly the Thermochrons, which are inexpensive and can record temperature data over long periods in remote locations. Does anyone know of any adaptions to do this? The protocol is similar to reading IDs.

You can use an X part and the Maxim 'i2c to 1-wire' chip. Have a search in the software suggestions forum for more discussions on this.
