It's just spamming, not a hack, and apparently in a rarely viewed section of the forum. It's a big problem for any internet forum, as a moderator you try to keep on top of it, validate new users, and use automated spammer blacklists such as http://www.stopforumspam.com/ but there are thousands of 'bots out there trying to register and post so it's not possible to block everything.

I just wondered how many other searches on the site might be affected. All I save was one persons name so should be easy for someone to clear.

Thanks for spotting that and it has been dealt with. Just your usual spammers who managed to not get noticed sooner.

We will normally catch spammers pretty quickly in the main forums but if anyone does spot anything it seems we may have missed or elsewhere on our sites just let us know and we will deal with those.
