driving a dacade counter with an 8M or 14m

DON'T REPLY, I found a lot of threads on this subject. I should have done a search before posting.
Could somebody suggest a good way to drive a decade counter with a piaxe output pin?
I need to clock the counter every 1/2 sec while other output pins are flashing LEDs.
