Downloading problems

Hello.

I have the following problem with the 28X1 chipset. I am downloading a program that initially adjusts the controller's frequency using the calibfreq -6 command. After the initial download, the controller just refuses to download any other programs !!! If I am lucky enough and I manage to re-download another program that places the controller in its correct frequency (eg. without using any calibfreq command) the chip fixes and can download anything without problems.

This problem does not appear in the 40X1 chipset.

Manual2 page 31 specifically warns of this possible side effect of the calibfreq command!

"Use this command with extreme care. It can alter the frequency of the PICAXE
chip beyond the serial download tolerance - in this case you will need to perform
a ‘hard-reset’ in order to carry out a new download."

You should always get a download with a "hard reset"
