Downloading from Logicator 2005 to picaxe buggy

I am having problems downloading students programmes from Logicator 2005 to the PicAxe buggies. Each buggy has a PIC16F627 chip in and recharged batteries, yet still I get the check cable and power settings message. I know they work as we covered this project last year. Each programme has selected the correct PIC. Any suggestions?

There is a logicator sub forum on here - you may get more help there.

Correct Port?
Sue it is not a non picaxe PIC?
Power getting to the PIC?

Did you use the PICAXE download socket, or the old version 1 programmer (where you move the chip back and forth) last year?

If the PICAXE cable method you should still be fine, so just work through the serial download checklist in part 1 of the PICAXE manual (see link at top of forum). Make sure you have selected the correct COM port and the correct PIC type (PICAXE18 *NOT* 16F627) in Logicator.

If the 'programmer' method you need to replace the old 16F627 chip in the buggy with a new PICAXE-18 chip.
