Download Circuit Probs

Hi all,

I am having some problems with the download circuit on the PICAXE 28-X1. One part of the manual tell me to connect pin 3 of the download socket to the 0V pin of the chip. And another part tells me to connect pin 3 of the download socket to the 0V rail of the circuit!?!?!

I'm really confused. Please could someone help me.

Take a look at this pdf.You want to use Pin6 and Pin7. Serial In and Serial Out.

- Mmmm... well as you will have your PICAXE 28X1 connected to ground (ic pins/legs 8 & 19) then that's the same thing.

Look at pages 26 and 27 of the link Charlie provided for you.

coolmandan - yes i think it might be that you are reading too much into the terminology. The "0V pin" of the chip and the "0V rail" are all connected together - to the 0V end of the power supply (ie battery -ve).
