Distance sensor

Hi, I've just bought a Picaxe 08M. While I was buying this, I asked for a sensor for finding distance. They gave me this (and a receiver which looks the same): http://surplustronics.co.nz/shop/product-CM0100.html
They told me there were instructions on the picaxe website on how to set these up, I can't find any for these. How do I connect these to the picaxe and then, how do I use them?

You've got the sensors which are used in ultrasonic distance measuring, but you don't have any electronic module which controls them. The Rev-Ed site includes details on how to use a ready built module but not how to drive and use the sensors without the required electronics.

There has been discussion in this forum on untrasound circuits ( and more info on Google etc ), but it's not easy, and you might be better off buying a specialised module ready built. Go to www.tech-supplies.co.uk and search for "ultrasonic"; SRF005.
