Clear Alerts

Just a quick question, is there a way to clear the alerts that this website gives you when people reply to threads, qoute you and other reasons?

Click on the bell icon and uncheck the notification box.

Click on your avatar up at the top right of the page and that should produce a drop-down. Select "Preferences" and the options are in there.

Added: cross-posted with bfgstew. That is an option I've not seen because I have alerts disabled. Thanks for that info.

My explanations again. Sorry.

I like the alerts, and don't want them to go away, Its just that after I check the thread, and the number goes away, when I click on alerts, It is still there. Because I have recieved several allerts today, the list is quite long.

Is there any way to clear that without turning of the alerts?
